We're hiring an Engagement Lead to help solve enterprise's most pressing finance and operations problems with agentic AI. You'll build relationships with CFOs and COOs, being their AI transformation thought partner while driving successful platform delivery and expansion. You'll take ownership of the business outcomes we create for our customers. Today, this work sits with the co-founders. We need someone to take on increasingly complex customer challenges, first by doing the work then by building the function around it.

What You'll Do

Shape engagements around their business justification. When a sales conversation turns into a scoping conversation, you partner with the responsible executives and leaders to design AI solutions and build business cases around them. You'll run workshops to identify and prioritize problems, build business cases, structure SOWs, and secure executive buy-in to move forward. Your job is to make sure what we commit to will create meaningful business impact for the customer.

Stay accountable for outcomes through delivery. You won't manage day-to-day execution, but you're accountable for making sure we deliver what we promise to our customers. You'll keep executive stakeholders informed as projects progress and share responsibility with the delivery team for escalation when things drift.

Drive expansion. You'll build relationships across customer organizations and look for what's next: expanded scope, new teams, adjacent business units. You’ll make sure every stakeholder becomes a CoPlane champion to maximize our impact across the enterprise.

Feed what you learn back into the product. You'll have a seat at the table in product roadmap planning. What you hear from executives and see through the reality of delivery will directly shape what we build into the platform over time.

Most of what this role covers doesn't have a defined process yet. You'll create it, pressure-test it, and refine it as you learn from each engagement. What you build becomes the foundation for how CoPlane delivers at scale.

You'll report directly to a co-founder. At our size, that means real influence on company decisions well beyond your engagements.

Who You Are

You've spent time inside large, complex organizations and understand how they actually operate: how decisions get made, how money moves, and why things take so long. That might mean 4–8 years at an MBB firm where you progressed from execution to shaping engagements, or spent on a PE value creation team running operational diligence and advising portfolio companies on where to improve. What matters is that you've been close to the work, not just the analysis.

You're as comfortable defending an ROI model in front of a CFO and as you are comfortable building a detailed change management plan for a COO. You can take a vague business problem with major operational contraints and turn it into the artifacts our delivery team needs to execute.

You're already using AI, and are ideally already helping enterprises define and implement AI strategy. Your strengths align to business strategy and operations, but you can speak credibly about how AI can solve real problems. You don't need a technical background, but you'll need to communicate effectively with the engineers building customer solutions and the platform to support them.
